━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The 63rd Annual Hunger Games took place in an arena to remember. Adapting its arena to the beauty of the 14th Hunger Games, upon rising, tributes were greeted with a barren landscape of lumber and rocks. A layer of snow coated the arena so that tributes' boots would leave footprints within it when they stepped. Various trees with leaves painted delicately with white, sprouted about the Cornucopia, leaving a shadow over the tributes who remained there.
The 63rd Hunger Games themselves, with a duration of only four days, were known as one of the shortest duration of Hunger Games in record. So short in fact that the Capitol didn't have time to use all the brilliantly-crafted disasters implemented in the arena. However, the ones that were used were remarkably deadly.
Panem remained at the edge of their seats, glued to their screens for the entirety of the games, until the end when Gloss from District 1 came victorious and was crowned the victor of the 63rd Annual Hunger Games.
Just a year later, his sibling, Cashmere Nicholo, would go on to win the 64th Annual Hunger Games.

The 63rd Hunger Games[]
Day 1 - Bloodbath[]
As the pedestals rise, the tributes are greeted with a winter wonderland, with small patches of grass hinting the green earth that the snow guilds. Beyond the Cornucopia is a forest dense with evergreen, pine trees, coated with a thin layer of snow. The arena is breathtaking and its color scheme of blue and white astound the tributes, but the Gamemakers hide multiple dangerous disasters and mutts behind its beauty.
As fast as time flies, the 30-second countdown ends, signaling for most, if not all tributes to run to the Cornucopia for weapons and supplies. Velda (D2F) grabs a khopesh, a type of sickle sword, on a supply box and swiftly impales Marlowe (D9M) when he tries to steal it from her.
Tanna acquires a cleaver from the Cornucopia, who lodges it directly into Clementine's (D12F) head, killing her almost immediately, who had tackled her district partner, Calfen (D10M), for food. Both Tanna and Calfen run off together after.
Lamarra (D3F) looks for danger of the bloodthirsty Careers before she bolts towards the supplies. She picks up a few glass water bottles, a tree spile, a few pieces of torn fabric, and a fire starting kit, mysteriously taking off with her district partner and a few other tributes they’ve allied with.
Suddenly, as Gloss (D1M) is choosing what weapons to grab, he is forced to the ground by Croft (D11M), who then tries to kill him with his sickle. Out of nowhere, Percy (D4M) stabs Croft repeatedly with his ranseur, a spear with a cross hilt at its base, collapsing Croft to the ground as Percy helps Gloss to his feet.
Bloodbath Aftermath[]
As the other outlying tributes flee the Cornucopia, the Careers stay, regroup, and set up camp together. Gloss takes a spare voulge, a type of polearm with a single-edged blade, from one of the knocked-over polearm stands as they start a fire and make relations. Velda hands her district partner, Spartacus, an exquisite aluminum bow and arrows she had found in the mouth of the Cornucopia. Spartacus delights at his gift and straps the quiver full of arrows around his shoulder.
The Career alliance this year includes all 3 districts made up of D1, D2, and D4. Gloss, Dazzle (D1F), Spartacus, Velda, Percy, and Manta (D4F).
Bloodbath Deaths[]
-Marlowe (D9M) | Killed by Velda (D2F)
-Clementine (D12F) | Killed by Tanna (D10F)
-Croft (D11M) | Killed by Percy (D4M)
21 tributes remain.
Day 1[]
Stitch (D8M) begins running uphill towards the foothills of a mountain, looking for a good vantage point. As he is running, he headbumps into Istarin (D5M) and they both fall to the floor. In a fury of survival instinct, he grabs his dagger to lodge his blade into Istarin's stomach, immediately killing him. As the horrific, red blood stains the pure, white snow, he then weeps over Istarin's body, realizing he had just lost a potential ally.
Day 1 Deaths[]
-Istarin (D5M) | Killed by Stitch (D8M)
20 tributes remain.
Night 1[]
While the evening sun sets over the arena, Gloss and Manta begin to hunt for tributes under the cover of night while the 4 other Careers remain by the Cornucopia to keep watch.
As Gloss and Manta stroll into the winter forest, they come upon an amber light just a few trees away. It's a fire made by Barley (D9F). The warmth starts to comfort Barley from the frigid cold and she lets her guard down of her surroundings and potential dangers. Gloss sneaks up behind her and stabs her in the back with his dagger. Before she can scream, Gloss pushes the dagger forward, causing Barley to jerk forward, throwing her face into her own fire, burning to death.
Meanwhile, an outlying district alliance of Lamarra, Cache (D3M, Liora (D5M), Titus (D6M), Lexus (D6F), Cypress (D7M), and Dimity (D8F), rest at their campfire deep into the forest. They’ve all banded together to take down the Career alliance tonight, and hatch a surprise attack, ready to be executed in a few hours. But Lamarra has other plans.
She begins to use her spile to extract pine resin from trees in her vicinity, filling her drunken empty glass water bottles with it. She knows the sap is flammable and can be a substitute for gasoline. She soaks her pieces of fabric in the resin as well, stuffing it in the spout of the bottle. And it’s only a matter of time before she improvises her very own makeshift Molotov cocktail, using the matches from her fire-starter kit to ignite it against her adversaries.
As Manta and Gloss are walking back to the Cornucopia, Manta begins to feel the unforgiving, bitter cold of the 63rd Hunger Games. Her teeth chatter at a rapid rate, the wind burns her cheeks to a rosy red tint, and she rubs her hands together in an effort to create warmth, only to find her fingers completely numb. Manta slowly raises her shaky, frostbitten hands to her eyes and whimpers to Gloss for help.
Suddenly, she can feel as though the miserable cold is penetrating into her vital organs. It’s harder to breathe, her chest begins to pain agonizingly, and everything goes dark in her eyes. She grits her teeth and winces one last time before she slips to the snow. Gloss crouches to the ground, urging Manta to wake up, but it’s no use. The cold has defeated her.
In sorrow, Gloss carries Manta’s icy body back to the campsite. He plops her on the ground and Percy begins running over to her, dropping his ranseur on the ground. He kneels down in front of Manta, takes off his ushanka, and quietly cries. The rest of the Careers also show slight pity towards Percy.
Out of the blue, the outlier pack emerges from the forest and charges towards the Careers in a desperate need for supplies, seeing the sad moment as weakness and an opportunity for an ambuscade. Lamarra lights a match that catches fire to her Molotov’s cloth, throwing it in the direction of the Careers. Before Percy can realize the urgency of the situation, it’s too late. The glass in the bottle, breaks; He’s set ablaze.
Percy rolls over in the snow, but it’s no use. The snow is dry, and there’s little to no water content in it for the fire to be extinguished. Percy goes up into smoke, disturbingly screaming for somebody to extinguish the inferno roasting him alive. The flames engulf Percy for another minute or so until it’s over and he rests on the snowy floor. The fire from the Molotov had dyed his skin and clothes a pitch black color and the air of the arena pollutes with ash, gray smoke.
Lamarra is ready to ignite another Molotov when all at once, everybody hears a roar coming from a nearby mountain. They spot a cloud of snow hurling towards the Cornucopia clearing. It’s an avalanche.
Everyone panics and runs for the top of the Cornucopia first for safety—kicking, punching, pushing, and pulling at each other. Velda pulls at Dimity’s hair in order to push herself up onto the top first, then kicks Dimity in the face, causing her to fall off the Cornucopia and onto her head, sustaining severe head injuries. The rest of the Careers also kick the other tributes off one side of the Cornucopia.
However, Lamarra and Cypress finally get onto the Cornucopia by maneuvering around to the other side, allowing them to get on with ease without facing any resistance. As soon as Cypress and Lamarra climb on top, the avalanche floods the entire clearing with snow; Lexus, Titus, Liora, Cache, Dimity, all knocked off the Cornucopia, are wiped out by the avalanche, completely drowned in a snowy grave along with the Careers’ campsite and supplies.
The avalanche only lasts for a few seconds, before it calms and the ground is nothing but dense snow. But the fight is not yet over. Cypress swings at Spartacus with his tactical axe, marking a few slashes, which knocks him down. Gloss forces Cypress off the Cornucopia, causing him to bang his head on the metal while tumbling down into the snow. Cypress takes a few seconds to recover, but by then, Gloss has his axe and lodges Cypress's own weapon into his chest, using it for the remainder of the Games.
Realizing she is outnumbered, mixed with the loss of her own entire alliance, Lamarra runs off into the forest. Spartacus reaches for an arrow, draws it on his bow, and launches it towards Lamarra's direction, but she's too far to reach. The Careers lie down on top of the Cornucopia and sleep for the night, pondering the events of the day.
Night 1 Deaths[]
-Barley (D9F) | Killed by Gloss (D1M)
-Manta (D4F) | Hypothermia
-Percy (D4M) | Killed by Lamarra (D3F)
-Lexus (D6F) | Death from avalanche
-Titus (D6M) | Death from avalanche
-Liora (D5F) | Death from avalanche
-Cache (D3M) | Death from avalanche
-Dimity (D8F) | Death from avalanche
-Cypress (D7M) | Killed by Gloss (D1M)
11 tributes remain.
Day 2[]
The Careers begin to excavate the remainder of their supplies buried in the snow and reconstruct their camp. Afterwards, the Careers discuss to hatch a scheme to hunt down Lamarra. They plan to search for her for the entire day and night, determined to find her and avenge Percy, whom she killed.
Meanwhile, Lamarra finds herself a new alliance with Rowan (D11F), Stitch, Calfen, and Tanna. She presents her improvised Molotov cocktails to the group and they all gleefully take one each for protection against the Careers.
Night 2[]
All five in Lamarra’s new alliance relaxes by a campfire they’ve set up. They’re deep into the forest, far enough away from the Cornucopia and they chat about, enjoying a rare moment of peace in the hostile arena.
Suddenly, Lamarra hears footsteps and chatter behind her. It’s the Careers who have come looking for her to kill her off. Everybody is startled by the noises and they fear the worst. They nervously but quietly sneak behind the entire pack. Lamarra stealthily grabs a Molotov, ushering her group to stay back. However, Stitch doesn’t listen to her and charges at the Career pack. In just mere seconds, they lose the element of surprise.
He throws his dagger into Spartacus's back and bolts towards him, snarlingly. Spartacus reacts quickly, however. He grabs the dagger out of his back and snatches his bow. He sends off an arrow straight at his charging adversary, but Stitch ducks forward in front of Spartacus, dodging the arrow and tackling him to the ground. Stitch takes the dagger and hollers a war cry, before he repeatedly stabs the blade into Spartacus's face.
One stab lodges deep into his eye and Spartacus screams in pain. Blood spurts everywhere as Stitch continues his rampage of thrusts, each stab increasing with rapidness until he stops abruptly. Velda has shoved her khopesh into Stitch’s back. Lamarra, Rowan, Calfen, and Tanna watch in fear when Stitch collapses to the ground. Velda takes her khopesh out of the body and grins menacingly at the other four, specifically Lamarra.
Tanna and Calfen, however, waste no time to fight. Calfen is the first to attack and it’s clear he has agility capabilities. Calfen is light on her feet; he draws his cleaver sword and slashes it across Velda’s chest, knocking his opponent to the ground before taking a few steps back to avoid a counterattack. Velda immediately gets back up and swings her khopesh at him, determined to put Calfen in her place and end the outlier district alliance. But Calfen doesn’t let her.
Calfen fights with the spirit of perseverance, dodging almost every single slash attack Velda throws at him. Frustrated, Velda grabs onto Calfen’s shoulders and deliberately into him, knocking him to the ground. Calfen is stunned for just a moment before Velda continuously slashes across his chest in a figure 8 motion, until he’s nothing but dead meat and bones. Disgustedly, Gloss and Dazzle are also understandably horrified at Velda’s chaotic nature, watching her stand up, khopesh in hand, covered in messy blood.
Both Tanna and Rowan run off in fear, seeing their ambush failed. However, Lamarra continues to persist. She attempts to launch another Molotov at the Careers, but this time, Dazzle is having none of it. She grabs Lamarra by her hair, dragging her towards a tree. Lamarra cries and kicks at her but Dazzle’s grip is strong. Dazzle goes over to a tree trunk, lets out a raging war cry, and shoves Lamarra against it, which shatters her skull, killing her. She instantaneously drops dead to the ground.
Tanna has disappeared without a trace, but Rowan hasn't. The Careers find her awkwardly climbing up a tall tree to escape them, but Dazzle fits herself to a killing streak. She climbs and chases up after her with Stitch's dagger. Scared of being killed, Rowan tries to climb faster, however, she mistakenly missteps on a weak branch, plunging her to her death about thirty feet high. She makes a deafening loud shriek before she hits the winter floor. Upon impact, her bones shatter like glass, killing her instantly.
Night 2 Deaths[]
-Spartacus (D2M) | Killed by Stitch (D8M)
-Stitch (D8M) | Killed by Velda (D2F)
-Calfen (D10M) | Killed by Velda (D2F)
-Lamarra (D3F) | Killed by Dazzle (D1F)
-Rowan (D11F) | Plunges to her death from a tree
6 tributes remain.
Day 3[]
As sunlight spills over the winter arena, the Careers begin to head back to the Cornucopia, assuming all the avalanche snow has melted. As they are walking, a polar bear spawns directly behind the entire pack. Unbeknownst to them, Gamemakers had implemented polar bears throughout the arena to chase tributes back to the Cornucopia, where the Finale will begin soon. A blizzard is also forecast throughout the arena, threatening extreme frostbite and hypothermia.
Meanwhile, Heath (D12M) and Dallas (D7F), assuming they are the last of the outliers, have created an alliance and are settling in an icicle-decorated cave for the night. Dallis starts a fire with her fire kit and the two begin to talk memories of their hometown district. Dallis dreams of the cool-toned, fresh pine smell of the forests, while Heath cannot think of the delight of his district. He doesn’t have warm memories, just bitter cold feelings. Suddenly, a polar bear spawns directly at the entrance of the cave and growls. The duo screams in terror and Dallis takes her axe, slashing the bear’s leg, which stuns it before the two take off in different directions.
Suddenly, the blizzard hurls towards the cave, creating a violent snow storm. The harsh falling snow hits like glass on Heath’s face, causing severe wind burns as he stumbles through the thick blanket of white. Dallis hears an angry roar coming from behind her and the polar bear starts to pick up her scent and hunt her down. She starts to panic as the roars get louder and louder, chasing her down the hill and never to be seen by Heath again.
Heath attempts to reach the Cornucopia through the rapid blizzard in hopes the mouth provides warmth. He takes one look at his fingers and starts to freak out. They’re frost blue cold and his eyes begin to close from the severe hypothermia impacting his health. Running turns to jogging. Jogging turns to walking. And walking turns to crawling. Suddenly, the inevitability of death hits him. He sheds one last tear that freezes before it can drop to the ground. Heath sulks over to a nearby tree and rests on its trunk, slowly closing his eyes for the last time.
Meanwhile, Dallis (D7F) is also facing her own survival situation. She practically travels at the speed of light, desperately trying to escape the polar bear chasing her back to the Cornucopia clearing. She runs and sprints and dashes, sobbing for her parents and Heath’s company, when she suddenly trips on a rock, spraining her ankle. She winces in slight pain, and it’s only a matter of time before the white-furred beast corners her against a boulder. She tightly closes her eyes, gritting her teeth, waiting for her misery in the god-forsaken arena to be done with. As expected, the beast attacks.
Each slash across Dallis’ body is four cuts each. She cries immensely in pain, a terrorizing scream that echoes for miles. It only takes a few slashes across her chest, face, and thighs before she rests. The polar bear despawns and she perishes, breathing her last ever so quietly.
Once the remaining Careers reach the Cornucopia clearing, they rush over to the mouth of the Cornucopia, using its icicle-topped roof for shelter. Gloss, Dazzle, and Velda stand and gaze before the cold mist and the harsh snow beating down on the arena, limited their line of sight to no more than a few feet away.
Out of the fog, Tanna appears upon the remaining three Careers, raging out a battle cry. She yells to avenge Calfen, before charging at Velda, tackling her to the ground. Tanna and Velda wrestle one other over on the ground, each attempting to get the upper hand over one another. Velda’s face is full of resistance and determination, while Tanna’s is filled with angry sobs and persistence. She finally gets one over Velda and Tanna shows her cleaver, ready to slit Velda’s neck and end her, but Gloss intervenes, lodging his axe straight into Tanna’s head. He hammers the blade deeper with his foot and Tanna draws the last breath of her life, eliminating the last chance of an outlier winning the 63rd Hunger Games.
The polar bears despawn and the Final Three are instructed to climb on top of the Cornucopia, where the Finale will initiate.
Day 3 Deaths[]
-Heath (D12M) | Killed by the blizzard
-Dallis (D7F) | Mauled by polar bears
-Tanna (D10F) | Killed by Gloss (D1M)
3 tributes remain.
Day 3 - The Finale[]
Desperate to go home and deprived of both food and water, Velda breaks down into mixed feelings. She has never felt this way before. So much pain, so much glory she had done in this arena, and she loves it. She’s only minutes away from inevitably killing what was once her trusted allies. But now, she doesn’t see allies, she sees only adversaries.
Velda grabs Gloss's axe and charges towards Dazzle in a fit of insanity, swinging at Dazzle incompetently in a rigid movement. Gloss attempts to grab his axe, but to no avail. In Dazzle and Gloss's eyes, they only saw a broken, wild beast, beyond repair.
As Velda begins to swing, Gloss hears the deafening screams of Dazzle and tackles Velda once more to get his axe. They wrestle for just until Dazzle recovers, whom takes her dagger and lodges it precisely into Velda's heart, twisting it until she collapses off Gloss. Dazzle gets up and spits on Velda’s body, commenting how she has always disliked her mentally deranged behavior and violent nature.
As it comes to him that the Final 2 is him and his own district partner, it pains to see Gloss kill the only person he had really ever trusted in this arena. The only person he had to kill and he could finally go home. Only one more kill. Dazzle sees and knows this feeling, knowing how much Gloss wanted this for himself. The feeling of victory, glory, and how much he worked for to volunteer. She smiles, turns around, and tells him, "Make it look pretty".
In the spur of the moment, Dazzle could feel the poll of an axe lodge into her back as she falls to the winter ground. Gloss quietly cries and then he looks up. A hovercraft flies on top of him, slowly dropping a ladder down onto the snow floor. Before he climbs into the hovercraft, ready to take him back to the district where he would be honored forever, he takes one last beautiful look at the winter wonderland, and smiles.
The victor of the 63rd Annual Hunger Games is
Gloss Nicholo of District 1
