The 36th Games were won by District 2's Berglind Jonsdottir at age 16. These Games were popular for the sponsor the victor got that year.
Pre Games[]
The Head Gamemaker that year was Spartoi Peloponnesus. Berglind odds of winning were 6-1. Her mentor this year was Magnus Sterlingshire. During training Berglind wasn't as cocky as her fellow careers. She was funny but quiet during her interview with Gaius Flickerman.
36th Games[]
Berglind killed two tributes during the bloodbath: the boy from District 7 and the girl from District 8. Her fellow Careers admired her for her deadly efficiency.
On Day 5, a massive earthquake struck the arena, claiming the life of her district partner. Berglind was deeply affected by the loss but managed to move on. On Day 7, she received a sword and shield from sponsors, who were captivated by her skill and charisma. By Day 8, with fewer tributes remaining, she decided to split from the Careers.
Later that day, the girl from District 9 ambushed her. However, Berglind easily overpowered her. As the girl tried to flee, Berglind threw her sword, striking her through the throat and killing her instantly.
On Day 9, she encountered the boy from District 1 and formed a temporary alliance with him. Together, they hunted down and killed the boy from District 11. Shortly after, they heard screams and discovered the girl from District 4 being devoured by a sasquatch mutt. They fled, but the boy from District 1 accidentally stepped into a crevasse and fell to his death.
By then, only three tributes remained. As the arena started to close in, the boy from District 3 attacked her. Berglind fought back and kicked him off a cliff, eliminating him.
Now, only the boy from District 4 stood between her and victory. Armed with a trident, he attacked, forcing Berglind to dodge quickly, though she lost her sword in the process. He seized the moment and grabbed her, slamming her to the ground. Just as he prepared to finish her off, Berglind grabbed her shield and struck him, knocking him down. While he struggled to recover, she grabbed his trident and impaled him, securing her victory and becoming the last tribute standing.
The other victor from this year was Alexios Durham.
