▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The 22nd Annual Hunger Games took place in a vast, woodland forest. Stretching approximately 2,000 acres, the tributes in this year's Games faced monstrous grizzly brown bears, rabid bunnies, and venomous snakes, causing severe injuries, disease, and death. In addition, forest fires were triggered that would crisp entire tributes within minutes.
In the end, Justine Beaulac of District 6 came victorious and was crowned victor of the 22nd Annual Hunger Games. It was the first ever Hunger Games which saw a victor who hailed from District 6.

The 22nd Hunger Games[]
Day 1 - Bloodbath[]
A crisp breeze glides into the tributes' faces, giving hint to the climate of the forestal, green arena. A cooling feel, in contrast to last year's Games, the 21st.
Immediately, the air is thick between tributes with desires to befriend or kill one another. It's quiet for just a moment until the anthem of Panem plays. The 30-second countdown begins and ends in what feels like just a few moments. As soon as it reaches 1, a run to the Cornucopia between everyone initiates and it’s chaotic violence everywhere.
Tributes push and pull at each other for supplies and not long after, blood spills onto the lush dark green grass. Ryder (D10M) grabs a halberd off a polearm stand, only for him to be stabbed in the gut by Serpenta (D2F) with a chisel knife. She takes Ryder's halberd and reunites with the Careers, planning to use it for the rest of the Games.
Dillan (D11M) meanwhile grabs a sword with a curved protrusion called a harpe. He sees Lio (D6M) grabbing a backpack and immediately bolts towards him. Dillan slashes his neck with his new harpe, grabs the backpack and all the supplies containing it, and runs. Lio looks up towards the arena sky as everything goes dark in his eyes and he’s drenched in a pool of his own blood.
Kaika (D4F) thrusts at Telena (D3M) with a dory spear, making numerous stab marks, however Spark (D3M) manages to pull Kaika off Telena, take the dory, and slash Kaika with it before running off to avoid facing death from the Careers. Telena runs off too in a different direction, causing both tributes from District 3 to separate. All other outlying tributes run into the thick, dense forest for refuge.
Bloodbath Aftermath[]
The Capitol yawns at an unentertaining bloodbath for this year's Games, with only two deaths in total. Slaughta (D10F) runs off in tears having just witnessed her district partner killed at the hands of a Career. Anguished, she grabs and tightly holds a curved knife and her six pairs of bolas (weighted lengths of cord thrown to entangle opponents). She sprints through the forestal landscape, anguished and determined to bring justice to Ryder.
Kaika is left with a permanent, enormous slash mark cutting diagonally across her face. She winces at the fresh wound while the remaining Careers treat her with their bandages.
Meanwhile, the Career pack comes together and sets up camp at the mouth of the Cornucopia, consisting of tributes Marquise (D1M), Pearl (D1F), Lepidus (D2M), Serpenta, Kaika, Lenore (D5F), and Justine (D6F), whom both the Careers spared and recruited. Both Marquise and Pearl equip machetes from the Cornucopia, while Lepidus acquires a sica, or shortsword.
Bloodbath Deaths[]
-Ryder (D10M) | Killed by Serpenta (D2F)
-Lio (D6M) | Killed by Dillan (D11M)
22 tributes remain.
Day 1[]
Kaika tells the Careers to stay at the campsite while she hunts for fish in streams of the forest. A few hundred meters away, Farro (D9M) refills his water bottle at a nearby waterfall. The water’s roars are of great sound and it attracts Kaika, eager to find food for herself and the Careers.
As Farro is getting up to leave, having satisfied with a plentiful amount of water to supply him for the day, a spearhead punctures his back and he hollers in agony. It’s Kaika. Blood spurts from his mouth as Kaika lodges her dory spear deeper into Farro’s body, until he is nothing more than Kaika’s first victim.
Kaika kicks his body into the waterfall stream. Blood invades the pure, clear water, painting it a deep scarlet red. She eyes at two slow-swimming trout wading in the water and spears them. She heads back to camp with both fish on her spearhead.
Day 1 Deaths[]
-Farro (D9M) | Killed by Kaika (D4M)
21 tributes remain.
Night 1[]
The Careers enjoy a warm dinner of fresh fish thanks to Kaika. They laugh and chat about while planning to hunt for outlying tributes during the daytime. They lay on the grass as they gleefully watch The Fallen projecting into the night sky.
Meanwhile, Telena nestles herself in an evergreen tree, unsure if her district partner had made it out of the bloodbath alive. She sobs and quietly cradles herself to sleep, unstrapped to the branch to prevent her from falling. She’s about thirty feet high up the tree when, unbeknownst to her, she accidentally slips off the branch and falls facefirst onto a sharp below. The only sound she makes is her neck and spine snapping, which echoes throughout the forest.
Telena lays, her face and bones disfigured, resting to sleep for the last time.
Night 1 Deaths[]
-Telena (D3F) | Slipped off a tree, plummeting to death
20 tributes remain.
Day 2[]
The morning sun shines bright into every tributes’ face. The Careers stand up and stretch from their beauty sleep and immediately begin gathering their weapons to go hunting as planned.
Spark strolls through the green forest, pondering if Telena had made it out alive whilst thinking about his bustling home district. Suddenly, Slaughta appears in front of him, who has hidden behind a thick tree and now launches two spinning bolas at him. Spark attempts to elude it by tumbling to his left, but it’s no use. His arms are already restrained with a bola, causing him to tip backward before his legs are bound with a second bola. He falls and is completely immobilized to the ground.
Fearing the worst, Spark sees an snarling Slaughta charging towards him with her cleaver. Spark shuts his eyes tight, accepting his destined fate: packed into a simple, wooden box back on a train to District 3, dead. Slaughta appears before him, kneels down, hollers a war cry, and begins to slash him over and over again in his stomach. Spark grinds his teeth and winces in pain. Slaughta on the other hand, enjoys the thought of murder and her trauma from the bloodbath drives her to the brink of insanity.
She cackles about, giggling wickedly at Spark’s reactions to pain until there is nothing but a neutral expresssion on his face. He is dead.
Slaughta immediately grows bored and untangles the bolas that once seized Spark’s limbs in place. She licks a tad bit of his blood on her hand, whispering underneath her breath that Ryder would be avenged soon. She then walks among the trees, looking for a place to settle in and spend the rest of the night.
Deeper into the forest, Ruff and Sueda, the duo from District 8, are enjoying a rare moment of piece, eating blackberries found in a bush and daydreaming of home. Suddenly, both of their hearts stop as they hear numerous dried leaves rustle and crunch by multiple footsteps nearby. It’s the Careers.
Both begin to scream and run in the opposite direction, further attracting the Careers to their location. Lepidus spots them first, who throws a kunai at the duo. It slashes Sueda’s ankle and she falls. She winces in heavy pain as Ruff cries for her to get up. But it’s too late. The Careers make arrogant taunts at the two vulnerable pair as they slowly reveal their blades to them and do the obvious.
But Ruff doesn’t allow them to. Not without a fight at least. He charges at Lepidus with a shortsword and flanks around him to slash him in the back. Lepidus crumbles to the ground, but it’s the wake-up call he needs to begin counterattacking. The rest of the Careers stand back and smirk, knowing Lepidus can handle the two on his own.
Lepidus whips out his own sword, decorated with a serrated blade and a curved blade figure, and throws himself at Ruff. It’s immediately clear he’s incompetent in a fight against Lepidus. He shoves Ruff to the ground and he looks up to Lepidus in terror. He only sees a monster, grinning to his first ever soon-to-be arena victim. Lepidus raises his sword, but before Ruff can shed blood, a tree timbers, falls on Lepidus, and rips his body into two like paper.
But Lepidus isn’t made of paper. He’s made of flesh and blood and bone that explodes all over Ruff. One second he’s there, sneering at Ruff, and the next second he’s gone. The horrors Ruff sees on display in front of him—what he would never be able to unsee—makes him vomit. The stink of blood, guts, and the urge to pass out fills his head. He is visibly and horrifically shaking, it’s as if he’s petrified to the ground.
The Careers on the other hand, have no time to wretch over a lost tribute. Kaika takes advantage of Ruff’s daze and throws her dory into his chest. Sueda is also slow to understand the urgency for her to run, but by the time she does, it’s too late. Pearl takes her machete and slashes it across Sueda’s face. She pleads for mercy but Pearl only continues to
